Charity music festival hits the right note for Blyth Star Enterprises

A charity music festival that was held to mark the 30th anniversary of local mental health charity, Blyth Star Enterprises, has helped to raise over £900.

The event, which took place at The Keel Row pub in Seaton Delaval over the August Bank Holiday weekend proved extremely popular, with attendees enjoying musical entertainment from North East-based rockabilly pop group, Lana and The Lost Boys and keyboard and vocalist duet, the Kirsty Forster Duo.

An award-winning pub in Northumberland is hosting its first ever charity music festival on Sunday 27 August to recognise the anniversary of one of its charity partners.

Innovative new training programme attracts big investment for local charity

A charitable organisation has been awarded over £22,000 to help establish a new vocational education and training programme in Northumberland.

Blyth Star Enterprises, which provides living support, work experience and day services for people living with learning disabilities and mental health issues, has acquired funding through a number of charitable trusts including The Ridley Family Charity, the Gwyneth Forrester Trust, the Guyll Leng Charitable Trust and the Didymus Charity to help get its woodfuel and woodwork training programme off the ground.

Blyth Star Enterprises boosted by Asda Foundation

A charitable organisation in Northumberland has received a grant for almost £27,000 from the Asda Foundation.

Blyth Star Enterprises has been awarded the funding after receiving support from the Asda Blyth store at Cowpen Road in recognition of the outstanding work they do within local communities across South East Northumberland.

From its headquarters in Blyth, Blyth Star Enterprises operates a number of social care services to help provide support to more than 300 people across the region who suffer with serious, long-term mental ill health and learning disabilities.
